After the 2016 election, many Americans felt a bit anxious and Chelsea Handler was no exception. It was the post-2016 election that Handler renewed her interest in cannabis, especially edibles.
Marijuana aided Handler to relax and increase her creativity. “I really just needed to take it down a notch, to be still, to not watch the news on a loop, and to chill out,” she says.
Momentarily, Chelsea Handler – comedian, author, talk show host, and now, entrepreneur – specifically, cannabis. Handler will be launching a cannabis line, beginning next year, highlighting edible chocolates and gummies and a variety of pre-rolls.
Due to the current controversy regarding vapes, her vape related merchandise has been put on hold for now. “Creating an extremely high-quality product and positive experience for our consumers is so important to me. For this reason, we are pivoting our product assortment for launch and holding off on releasing our set of vapes until we fully explore all formulation options, ensuring the quality, transparency, and safety of all of our products”, Handler said.
NorCal Cannabis Company of San Francisco will be the source and supplier of Handler’s cannabis products.
Handler explained that after the 2016 election, her outrage was at a high and alcohol didn’t help suppress it. As a matter of fact, alcohol was enhancing her outrage. Edibles opened up a whole new world for her and accommodated her to take her time with things again.
When asked how her fabulous experience with pot made her want to get into the cannabis business, she said, “I wanted to show anyone who’s had a bad experience with edibles, who is too scared to come back: It’s like, “No, no, no — it’s safe now.” I’ve always been vocal about whatever I’m interested in. So then I started pursuing it. But I wanted to do my due diligence, so I met with a bunch of companies. I flew up to a bunch of grows and got as informed as I could. I’ve done my research back and forth. I’ve had every edible under the sun. You could probably give me 100 milligrams of pot right now and you would not see a difference. It’s a constant learning curve. It feels like this whole business is going to get still more informed every day.”
Handler wants to inform anyone curious about cannabis by educating them regarding its advantages and deciphering the best methods to use it as well as destigmatize the marijuana plant.
